Heat treatment for auto parts

There are five main heat treatment processes for automobile parts: annealing and normalizing, quenching, tempering, aging and tempering, surface quenching, chemical heat treatment.

1. Carburizing heat treatment of automotive parts

The purpose of carburizing heat treatment is to make the parts obtain good fatigue resistance and wear resistance, and ensure the reliability of the parts performance. Carburizing heat treatment is required for differential gear, transmission shaft gear, steering gear, engine piston and gear parts of automobile drive axle.

2. Heat treatment of automotive parts

The quenching and tempering heat treatment of automobile parts can be divided into protective atmosphere conditioning heat treatment and general quenching and tempering heat treatment. The protective atmosphere quenching and tempering heat treatment can ensure that the parts will not produce surface oxidation, shedding and other defects in the heat treatment process, and ensure the surface quality of the parts. If the quenched and tempered parts need further processing, the general heat treatment is carried out.
