With ammonia decomposition gas as raw gas (75%Hz+25%N) or other hydrogen rich sources, H2 and N2 are separated, and 99.95% or above high purity hydrogen (oxygen free purity) is extracted by purification device. It is an effective way for pure hydrogen users to obtain hydrogen at low cost.

The purification unit USES the large specific surface area and polar adsorption of 5A molecular sieve to achieve the deep adsorption of water and residual ammonia. The decomposed nitrogen-hydrogen mixture enters the dryer to remove residual moisture and other impurities. The purification unit adopts double adsorption tower process, one adsorbs dry ammonia decomposition gas, the other desorbs out the water and residual ammonia under heating state (generally at 300-350℃), so as to achieve the purpose of regeneration. The adsorption tower adopts the structure of inner and outer cylinder, which avoids the overheat sintering of molecular sieve and guarantees the service life of molecular sieve. High quality valves are selected to ensure reliable sealing and no internal leakage, thus ensuring the purity of product gas.

That is, under standard conditions, the complete decomposition of 1000 mol of ammonia can produce hydrogen and nitrogen mixed gas of 44.8Nm, and absorb heat of 11040 kcal. In other words, the complete decomposition of 1kg of liquid ammonia can produce 2.64m3 of hydrogen and nitrogen mixed gas. According to the chemical equation, the decomposition gas consists of 75%H2 and 25%N2.

Ammonia decomposition under the condition of industrial devices can't be 100% complete decomposition, there are traces of residual ammonia, industrial liquid ammonia containing a small amount of water, used gas purification device, removing the residual ammonia and moisture in mixture, satisfactory protective gas, meet the needs of industrial production (such as the impurity oxygen have higher requirements, also can increase the deaerator) in the clarifier.


It is the most economical method to reduce the protective atmosphere directly by using the mixed atmosphere of the product gas. The product can also be used as hydrogen-rich raw gas to extract pure hydrogen, which is an economical method to produce hydrogen.
