Heat treatment to improve the performance of workpieces

Heat treatment is one of the important processes in the manufacturing process of mechanical parts and tools. It can control various properties of workpiece, such as wear resistance, corrosion resistance, magnetic properties, etc. It can also improve the structure and stress state of the blank, so as to facilitate all kinds of cold and hot processing. Metal heat treatment is a kind of comprehensive technological process that heat, heat and cool the material in a certain medium, and control its performance by changing the surface or internal structure of the material. Heat treatment is one of the important processes in mechanical manufacturing. Compared with other processes, heat treatment generally does not change the shape and overall chemical composition of the workpiece, but endows or improves the performance of the workpiece by changing the microstructure inside the workpiece or the chemical composition on the surface of the workpiece.


Metal heat treatment is a kind of process method that the metal workpiece is heated to a suitable temperature in a certain medium and kept at this temperature for a certain time, and then cooled at different speeds. Metal heat treatment process can be generally divided into three categories: overall heat treatment, surface heat treatment and chemical heat treatment. According to the different heating medium, heating temperature and cooling method, each kind can be divided into several different heat treatment processes. Different heat treatment processes can be used for the same metal to obtain different structures and different properties. Steel is the most widely used metal in industry, and the microstructure of steel is also the most complex, so there are many kinds of heat treatment process.
