Heat treatment strengthening material

Heat treatment refers to a kind of metal hot working process in which materials are heated, insulated and cooled in solid state to obtain the expected structure and properties. The process of heating metal materials (including steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals and alloys, etc.) to a certain temperature for a certain period of time and cooling to room temperature with a suitable cooling medium is called heat treatment. The purpose of heat treatment is to change the internal structure (metallographic structure) and structure of materials, so as to obtain the properties (physical and chemical properties) we need.


The following conditions must be met for materials capable of heat treatment and strengthening:

1. There is solid phase transition;

2. After cold working, the microstructure is in the state of thermodynamic instability;

3. The surface can be infiltrated by the atoms of the active medium to change the chemical composition of the surface.


After heat treatment, the hardness and strength of the material can be increased, and the service life of the material after heat treatment can be increased; the hardness and strength can also be reduced, so that the material is easy to process. Nantong heat treatment is widely used in construction machinery manufacturing, power machinery equipment manufacturing, chemical machinery manufacturing, electronic equipment, aviation machinery manufacturing, weapon machinery manufacturing and other general applications. That is to say, all components made of metal materials may need to change the performance of metal materials through heat treatment process.
