Heat treatment process of plastic mould parts


Different kinds of steel are used as plastic mold, their chemical composition and mechanical properties are different, so the manufacturing process is different; similarly, different types of plastic mold steel adopt different heat treatment process. This section mainly introduces the manufacturing process of plastic mold and the characteristics of heat treatment process.

1、 Manufacturing process of plastic mould

1. Low carbon steel and low carbon alloy steel mould

For example, the process of 20, 20Cr, 20CrMnTi and other steels is: blanking → forging die blank → annealing → mechanical roughing → cold extrusion forming → recrystallization annealing → mechanical finishing → carburizing → quenching, tempering → grinding and polishing → assembly.

2. High alloy carburized steel mould

For example, the process of 12CrNi3A and 12crni4a steel is as follows: blanking → forging die blank → normalizing and high temperature tempering → mechanical roughing → high temperature tempering → finishing → carburizing → quenching, tempering → grinding and polishing → assembly.

3. Quenched and tempered steel mould

For example, the technological process of 45, 40Cr and other steels is: blanking → forging die blank → annealing → mechanical roughing → tempering → mechanical finishing → finishing, polishing → assembly.

4. Carbon tool steel and alloy tool steel mould

For example, t7a-t10a, CrWMn, 9SiCr and other steels have the following process routes: blanking → forging die blank → spheroidizing annealing → mechanical roughing → stress relief annealing → mechanical semi finishing → mechanical finishing → quenching, tempering → grinding and polishing → assembly.

5. Pre hardened steel mould

For example, 5nisica, 3Cr2Mo (P20) and other steels. For the direct use of bar machining, because the supply state has been pre hardened, it can be directly processed, polished and assembled after forming. For the process to be reworked and formed after forging into blank, the process is: blanking → forging → spheroidizing annealing → planing or milling six sides → pre hardening (34-42hrc) → mechanical roughing → stress relief annealing → mechanical finishing → polishing → assembly.
