Induction hardening process for flat surface of missing parts
Missing cylindrical part, material is 45 steel, surface hardness is required HRC40~45. The original flame quenching process was seriously out of tolerance due to the influence of slow heating speed, deep heating layer and asymmetric parts structure, so the grinding margin had to be increased to facilitate grinding after quenching.
In the previous induction heating quenching, the surface temperature drops too fast during the period when the heating workpiece drops into the water jet ring because of the thin heating layer. Then it is changed to direct spray quenching on the induction ring to solve the problem. At the opening part of the induction ring, there is a little more space between the two busbars. When the induction heating occurs, the gap of the workpiece is at this point, which proves that this can reduce the current density on the surface of the gap, thus helping to reduce the overheating tendency of the surface of the gap. The missing patch is a piece of red copper with the same radius as the missing patch. When heated, the copper block is close to the missing circle. On the one hand, it can absorb the overheating heat at the missing circle, and on the other hand, it can increase the surface area at the missing circle, thus further reducing the overheating tendency at the missing circle. The sticking block is closely attached to the workpiece by the clamping action of spring plate, and the operation is very simple.
